Objective
The objective of the green policy is to include the scope and create awareness about the need for energy and environmental conservation in all aspects of the decision made by the stake holders of KEC.
We aim to foster a culture of sustainability that permeates every level of our institution, from daily operations to long-term strategic planning.
General
- The green policy ensures that volunteers are well catered and treated with due respect; and the volunteer management is in line with legal requirements and volunteering principles.
- The green policy values the role of the members as essential to the organisation. Members are respected for their skills and talents.
- The green policy provides a safe and healthy workplace that prioritizes environmental responsibility alongside employee wellbeing.
- Regular sustainability audits will be conducted to measure our environmental impact and identify areas for improvement.
Technical
- The goal of this policy is to raise the general public's consciousness and prepare them for the efficient management of all types of energy.
- In addition, it ensures the following management such as rainwater harvesting, waste management; minimize energy utilization in daily basis.
- It encourages energy efficiency and conservation among the stakeholders and the public through workshops and demonstration projects.
- Program Outcome carrying Environment and sustainability is included in the institutional regulations and in all the departments' individual program outcomes (PO-7).
- In addition, "Environmental Science" paper is included as the mandatory paper in the first year of all the department students.
- To establish new energy sources and novel energy technologies with a view to increasing development and promoting the sustainable use of energy.
- The policy indeed keen to spread this message to society by organising public awareness programmes and community engagement initiatives.
